Types and Differences of Reactors

The broad understanding of the reactor is a container with physical or chemical reaction. Through the structural design and parameter configuration of the container, the functions required by the process like heating, evaporating, cooling and low-speed mixing are realized.

The reactor is composed of a kettle, a cover, a jacket, a stirrer, a transmission device, a shaft sealing device and other components. It is a container used for chemical reactions, which can provide different temperature and pressure environment required for chemical reactions, is suitable for different reaction conditions and for chemical reactions of various materials under high temperature and high pressure.

There are many types of reactors. According to their materials, they can be divided into "glass reactors, stainless steel reactors, and enamel reactors". What is the difference between them?

1. The difference between glass reactor and stainless steel reactor

glass reactor has very good acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, good chemical stability, but poor thermal conductivity. The stainless steel reactor is just the opposite. It has excellent thermal conductivity, but has poor resistance to strong acid and alkali.

2. The difference between enamel reactor and glass reactor

They are all acid and alkali resistant anti-corrosive reactors. Enamel refers to sintering a layer of ceramic to resist chemical corrosion. Glass-lined reactor is also a type of glass reactor, which means that a layer of glass is pre-sintered inside the metal, but glass-lined reactor cannot be used for alkaline materials, because the glass will be dissolved by alkali, causing equipment to be corroded.

3. The difference between stainless steel reactor and enamel reactor

The stainless steel reactor can be heated quickly, is resistant to high temperatures, and is hygienic, and does not require automatic heating by a boiler. It is suitable for high temperature and high pressure chemical reaction test in petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, scientific research, colleges and universities, etc. It can achieve high mixing effect for viscous and granular materials. The glass-lined reactor is widely used in petroleum, chemical, food, medicine, pesticide, scientific research and other industries to complete chemical processes such as polymerization, condensation, vulcanization, alkylation, and hydrogenation.
