Single-layer and Jacketed Glass Reactors Comparison

Single-layer glass reactor and Jacketed glass reactor, as the name implies, their names have clearly indicated their biggest characteristics and differences, and at the same time, their working principles are not the same, let’s take a look together.

I. Working principle of single-layer glass reactor:

The single-layer glass reactor directly heats the reaction kettle body through a layer of silver film heating sheet, so that the materials in the reaction kettle can be kept at a constant temperature and can be stirred. The material is reacted in the reactor, and the evaporation and reflux of the reaction solution can be controlled.

II. Working principle of Jacketed glass reactor:

The Jacketed glass reactor is designed with double-layer glass. Its working principle is: the reaction solvent can be placed in the inner layer of the glass reactor for stirring reaction, and the inter-layer can be used for cyclic heating or cooling reaction (refrigerated liquid, hot water or hot oil), and by controlling the temperature of the hot and cold temperature source connected to the inter-layer, the materials inside the kettle can be heated, cooled or kept constant temperature. It can perform stirring reaction under normal pressure or negative pressure according to the requirements of use, and can do the reflux and distillation of the reaction solution, and it can be vacuumed during use, so as to do the vacuum reaction.

The above is about the difference between the working principle of single-layer and Jacketed glass reactors, and hope it will be helpful to you.
