Small reactors operate at high temperatures, as chemical reactions typically require specific temperature conditions to proceed. Therefore, these reactors withstand both pressure and temperature. Several methods are commonly used to achieve high temperatures as follows.

Heating methods for glass reactors:
1. Water heating:
Suitable for applications requiring lower temperatures. The heating system can be either open or closed.
2. Steam heating:
For temperatures below 100℃, steam at less than one atmosphere can be used; for temperatures between 100~180℃, saturated steam is used; for higher temperatures, high-pressure superheated steam can be used.
3. Heating with other media:
If the process requires operation at high temperatures or if a high-pressure heating system must be avoided, other media can be used instead of water and steam.
4. Electric heating:
A resistance wire is wound around the insulation layer of the reactor body, or installed on a specially designed insulator at a certain distance from the reactor. This creates a small spatial gap between the resistance wire and the reactor body.
